1. Who we are
MuzigoFinder Uganda Limited ("MuzigoFinder", "we", "us") is a company registered in Uganda (company number 80034035053471) operating the platform at muzigofinder.co.ug. We connect landlords and tenants directly — without brokers.
We are registered with the Personal Data Protection Office of Uganda (reference DU2609-114) in compliance with the Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019.

2. What data we collect
We collect only what is necessary to operate the platform:
- Account data: full name, email address, phone number, and role (tenant or landlord).
- Listing data: property details, photos, and location submitted by landlords.
- Booking data: visit requests, booking status, and payment records.
- Identity verification: National Identification Number (NIN) and supporting documents — collected only from landlords who request verification, stored securely and not shared publicly.
- Usage data: pages visited, search queries, and device type — used to improve the platform.
3. How we use your data
- To create and manage your account.
- To display listings and connect tenants with landlords.
- To process visit booking fees (UGX 25,000) through our payment provider.
- To verify landlord identity and property ownership.
- To send you notifications about bookings, listing status, and platform updates.
- To comply with applicable Ugandan law.
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Who we share data with
- Pesapal Uganda: our payment processor. They receive transaction details to process booking fees.
- Supabase: our database and authentication provider. Data is stored on servers in the European Union under appropriate data processing agreements.
- Field representatives: MuzigoFinder staff who conduct property visits may access landlord contact details and listing information for that purpose only.
- Regulators: we will disclose data when required by Ugandan law or a lawful order.
5. Your rights
Under the Data Protection and Privacy Act 2019, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data.
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

6. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or financial compliance purposes (e.g., payment records for up to 7 years under Ugandan tax law).
7. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and role-based access controls. No system is perfectly secure — if you suspect a breach, contact us immediately.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the platform grows. We will notify registered users by email of any material changes. The date at the top of this page always reflects the latest version.
